Policy and Advocacy Manager
Victorian Student Representative Council Inc (VicSRC) is looking to hire a new Policy and Advocacy Manager.
The Policy and Advocacy Manager is a key leadership role at VicSRC, working directly with our Student Executive Advisory Committee to support and elevate student-led advocacy across Victoria. You’ll co-design our annual flagship event, Congress, and lead the development of policy positions, campaigns and research that amplify student voice in education.
This role also oversees VicSRC’s communications strategy to ensure strong, student-led messaging across all platforms. Working closely with the CEO, you’ll help drive VicSRC’s public influence and impact.
About you
Our ideal candidate has a passion for supporting students to be actively involved in education decision making. You have experience co-designing projects and events with young people, and you enjoy mentoring and coaching students to reach their full potential.
You have extensive experience in research and developing and implementing evidence-based policy platforms and advocacy campaigns in partnership with young people. You have a good understanding of political engagement, and a passion for driving systemic change.
You are energetic, adaptable, and can work autonomously as well as collaboratively with a close-knit team. You are exceptionally organised and have demonstrated skills in managing multiple projects with competing demands. You thrive in a dynamic workplace and are great at making connections and building partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
Understanding of the Victorian school system and a commitment to student voice, agency and participation is essential to be successful in this role.
