SEV launches Student Empowerment course for teachers

Social Education Victoria (SEV) in partnership with VicSRC and the Victorian Department of Education launches online learning course and professional development opportunities for teachers.

Webtile for Student Empowerment Professional Learning for Teachers

Social Education Victoria (SEV) in partnership with VicSRC and the Victorian Department of Education has developed a professional learning course, "Student Empowerment: Professional Learning for Teachers" designed for educators who are passionate and curious about implementing student voice. We're delighted to announce, you can access the course from today over at VicSRC Online Learning.

These online learning modules also act as an excellent precursor to a professional development workshop for teachers that is taking place on March 16. Facilitated by Laura Newman (SEV) and Dr Ilana Finefter-Rosenbluh (Monash University), the workshop dives into two challenging elements of student voice: what to do with student voice data and how to interpret and act on student perception survey responses. For more information, check out the workshop flyer.

Following the success of SEV's workshops that were used to inform the online course, teachers are encouraged to also sign up, join the growing Facebook community and register for the supplementary online events running from mid-May to June this year.

Whether you are a learning specialist for student agency, interested in learning more about student voice or play a supporting role for student representatives or student agency projects in your school - this program is for you.

We’re very excited to be a involved with a program where teachers get to work together to learn about and implement strategies for student voice and agency.
