VicSRC provides Submission to Parliamentary Inquiry

With the introduction of the VCE vocational major this year, VicSRC was well-positioned to provide the student voice input for the inquiry into the perceptions and status of vocational education and training.

Adult listening intently to student

Following a referral from the Minister for Skills and Training in November last year, Parliament's House Standing Committee on Employment, Education and Training commenced an inquiry into the perceptions and status of vocational education and training (VET).

We believe that insights into school-aged students perspectives should be an important consideration during the inquiry, with an added timeliness following the introduction of the VCE vocational major this year.

In direct consultation with the Student Executive Advisory Committee, our submission to the inquiry, Improving Student Pathways to VET, aims to focus on how the Australian government (alongside state & territory governments) can enhance the status of VET and keeps student voice at the core of the submission.
